SunOne 7 and JDK 6 compatibility

I am not sure if this is correct forum to post this question.
We have a application that is hosted in App Server 7 and runs Java 1.4.2
We are planning to migrate to JDK 6. Will there be a compatibility issue? My guess is yes, but will appreciate if I get some more input on this.

Have you considered moving to GlassFish v3 (or GlassFish v2 if you are using clustering and HA)?

Due to licensing issue, client is not moving to the GlassFish v3 but want to upgrade to JDK 6. If anyone can point me to article or document that gives minimum App Server requirements [Sun One App Server 9 or GlassFish V1 etc] for JDK 6 than it will be helpful.
