[FYI] SwingX Stormy Weather ...

... as we are in the middle of some code-breaking changes for 0.9.6, discussed agreed on in
http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=55628&tstart=0
The code-base was tagged before the breaking changes with pre-096-code-breaking-changes-10mar2009, to allow for checking out a most-bug-fixed version before these changes. The last weekly has the same stability (if it happened, can't be sure with all our server probs - Jan?)
A gentle reminder to our committers: we have a wiki page documenting change history (at least as far as code-breaking changes go) - please be sure to keep that in synch with the changes as you go along For your convenience, the link to that page
http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Javadesktop/SwingXChanges
While we are at it - each release, it's release notes and the swinglabs.org (assuming it will ever again be resurrected should contain a reference to that change history page.
Thanks Jeanette

No, the domain is still owned by Sun, but the stuff is now at swinglabs.dev.java.net. Don't know why nobody put a simple redirect.

Hello Elkner
I share your frustration about all that server problems but all I can say that we are working on it and I do hope that swinglabs server will be alive very soon and will not down again (hopefully tomorrow)
There were some administrative problems that couldn't be solved quick
Thanks for your understanding alexp

Alex,
good to hear that the problems are worked on - right now we are back to the ominous "Maximum connection reached: 4096 - retry later" ...
And I think that there are two separate issues - make whatever phyical server run the automated builds reliably - find a cosy home for swinglabs.org content _and_ make sure all old links to swinglabs.org are delivered to the new address. The word uttered by more experienced persons than me was "redirect". At the very least update all links on all of _our_ content pages (which is wiki, and project home pages) - which I regard as the responsibility of whoever does the move, obviously pointing fingers <g>
Personally, I'm not overly keen (never had been, for that matter) on keeping SwingLabs.org at all - so an alternative for the second issue might be to simply remove all mentions of that site (which is severely neglected anyway). The first, on the other hand, is a big, big, BIG MUST.
Cheers Jeanette

I like the idea of only posting when hudson and swinglabs are working - cuts down on the mail <g>
