License question

Hi all,

I plan to create a LGPL project but would like to base it on SceneGraph.
Will I violate any license, SG is GPL?
Is there any plan to change SG license from GPL to LGPL?

Thanks in advice.

My understanding is that if you use GPL code, your LGPL project will automatically become GPL. There are certain exceptions -- for example GPL with Classpath Exception -- but SG is straight GPL, so that doesn't apply in this case. Hopefully they'll change that!!!! I'd like to use it too!

Same here! Does anybody have a clue if the license for this library is going to be changed to a license more in line with the rest of the swinglabs libraries ?

Now that JavaFX SDK 1.0 has been released, its runtime uses project SceneGraph but it s licensed under the JavaFX license (which is not GPL). Does this means that Project SceneGraph has changed its license too?

Hello? any status update on the license? I'm not willing to invest time on this until the license is commercial friendly

up !!!

I have the same problem of bertvanbrakel.

I want to develop a extention of JavaBuilders (apache v2 licence) for Scenegraph with the possiblity to use it in commercial product and the licence is very problematic.
Is it possible to change it to a commercial friendly licence (LGPL, apache ...)?

Is there any news on changing the license for Scenegraph to a commercially compatible one?

Also, which license does the Scenario.jar that ships with JavaFX 1.0 fall under? Is that allowed to be redistributed without source?
