Easy to Crash the new Plugin on IE

I've been seeing this problem ever since I started trying the builds of 6u10, and its still happening on b25. sorry I didnt report it earlier...
All I have to do is press the right mouse button inside the applet, drag the cursor outside of the applet on to the page, and then release the mouse button. IE shows the normal contex menu, but then goes in to a spin, CPU shoots up to 100% and IE is frozen entirely. Need to kill it with Task Manager.
If you like, you can try it on http://benloud.com/testpage.html
This doesnt happen on FireFox, nor does it occur with JDK6u6 under IE.
I dont develop applets, but I noticed the problem while playing one of my favourite boredom killers... Yahoo! Pool. You shoot by pulling on the cue with the right mouse button. The table is on the edge of the applet, so dragging outside happens all the time, and hence Yahoo Pool is completely unusable with IE. I hope this gets fixed, or else I'd wouldnt expect a great response to update 10 from the thousands of Yahoo Games users.

Thanks for reporting this issue. Could you please provide the source of your test case?
Thanks, Roger Y.

Thanks for the response. It happens to me on ALL applets, on every computer I've tried, which were 3xXP and 1 Vista, all IE7. The applet I gave was pretty much just a trivial Hello World incase anyone didnt have an applet handy, but I'll attatch the source code anyway as you requested.
Are you able to reproduce the problem?

Try your test on http://pancyl.com/
Tell us what happens. Does the problem occur when the right mouse button is used to bring up a menu or does the problem occur anytime the right mouse button is pressed?

Yes. I can reproduce the issue. I have created another bug report from 6686520. Your bug report is: 6712912.
It may take a day or 2 to show up on bugs.sun.com.
Thanks for reporting the issue.
demonduck: I can reproduce the issue with your Java Applet also. I have included your test case in the bug report also. IE hangs when I right click and drag the mouse cursor outside of your Java Applet.

There is an easy solution: stop using IE. why drag a dead horse behind. seriously, there are better browsers, and i'm sure the sun engineers have better things to do on the VM. Like the da vinci project to supporting more languages on the VM on a byte code level.

There is nothing more annoying than pseudo-religious debates. Would *you* appreciate someone pushing their beliefs on you like this? Let the guy use whatever he wants. If it crashes and the majority of the world uses IE then clearly Sun needs to fix this. I personally never use IE but I know plenty of people who do.

I also now many who uses IE. But seriously a browser is just an front end. Why don't sun just outsource that piece to pro-Microsoft developers? And there are some really good ones out there. MS users get the benefit of a really good and stable plug-in. The rest of the developers end up the advantage of deep VM code being used by non-sun developers. Which would make sure that there is someone to tell them where sun is loosing the plot.

You don't outsource the guts of your flagship product. And yes, I consider IE support to be a very vital part of the JVM. If the people you outsource to screw something up, who's ass do you think will be on the line? This is something you can do for platforms with 5% market share, but not 80% market share.

Are you even able open an applet? If so try this: Open the Java Console Open a known applet: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml Post the errors from the console
Thanks, Roger
