a lot of GTK L&F bugs have been already fixed but not yet integrated in the OpenJDK 6 and the update 10 branch.

Any chance to get them into Java 6?

Also if there is a bugfix committed to e.g OpenJDK 6 (eg this one http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=41414&tstart=0) why is it not also committed to the Update 10 branch?
I am asking out of curiosity, because there are currently 3 different jdks I am testing with (6 update 10, openjdk6, openjdk7) it could be worse but is the fragmentation of bugfixes (of course just the fixes which can be applied easily) really necessary?

(I know SUN devs are currently under pressure but integrating diffs of bugfixes is probably in many cases trivial compared to finding the actual fix for the bug...)

I have the same problem with similar GTK L&F bugs, the worst is the JComboBox problem: http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6624717

It's so sad that there's no way to include it at least in the JDK6 UpdateN branch. OpenJDK6 is unfortunately not usable for Swing applications yet. JDK 7 will not be released soon. Java on the Linux desktop has theoretically greate chances, but Sun is loosing a lot of potential developers and users when things like this will not get fixed.
