Hi everyone,
It's my great pleasure to announce a new resource for the BD-J authoring community: The BD-J Authoring Notes and Guidelines Wiki. Check it out at http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Mobileandembedded/Blu-RayDisc . I've linked to it from both hdcookbook.com and the coverpage at hdcookbook.dev.java.net.
I copied the contact information for the PC players to the wiki. In addition, there are two authoring guidelines there to start out:
* A guideline on image memory management, flush() and DVBBufferedGraphics * A guideline on dealing with optional APIs like javax.net.ssl
I'd like to welcome contributions to this wiki from the community. Let me know if you have something you'd like to contribute, and I'll work out write access.
ευχαιστώ,
Bill

Hi Everyone,
About the wiki at http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Mobileandembedded/Blu-RayDisc - it turns out that anyone can contribute to the wiki without getting any special permissions. Just log in to java.net and go to the wiki page. It will recognize a cookie or something that gets set by java.net, and enable an "edit" button.
Contributions are welcome! I'm going to try to get it set up so I get an e-mail notification when pages change, so I can keep them organized and consistent, and weed out any outright spam and such, but other than that I'm hoping for a very open wiki-like model.
Cheers,
Bill

Wiki page for commercial products and services

Hi everyone,
I added a page to the BD-J authoring notes and guidelines wiki for the listing of commercial products and services. Feel free to to add to that entry; right now it is blank. To add to it, log into java.net, go to http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/Mobileandembedded/Blu-RayDisc , and click on the link for commercial products and services, then edit. (If you're the first one there, you'll see a superscripted blue question-mark instead of a link; click on that instead.)
Anyone with a java.net login can edit the Wiki, so I'll just ask folks to be reasonable about keeping entries concise (like a sentence or two with a link to an appropriate website).
Cheers,
Bill
