Hi all,

We're working on a release before JavaOne and want to get a beta release of the 1.1 code out this week. As you have seen we are working on jMaki 1.1. We have received lots of comments saying that the version numbering for the different artifacts ( standalone bundle and plugins) is confusing. To try and remedy this we will change the version number all artifacts to 1.8 with the beta release.

There will not be a final release of the 1.1 code but instead we will move directly to 1.8 for the plugins and the standalone bundle. It will still be a beta quality release. The final release will be numbered 1.9. We hope that making the version numbers the same for all release will remove confusion going forward.

Thanks,
Carla

Sounds like a sensible plan Carla.

Hi Carla,

Also part of the JavaOne push: we're using some very new code (will be in the 1.8 release) directly from the jMaki workspace in our project. The project contains jMaki widgets that we've written, and I can develop and use them well in our sample apps. But I'd like to have a matching NetBeans plugin so that we can try out the final step: dropping the widgets into web pages.

I see that the NB jMaki plugin v1.8 isn't available yet at https://ajax.dev.java.net/netbeans. Until it is, can you tell me what I need to do in the workspace to build the .nbm file so the other team members can start trying things out without going through some manual steps?

Thanks,
Bobby

Hi bbissett,

That code was put into the workspace and it is part of th new release. Each time we do a commit to the ajax project workspace, a build is kicked off on Hudson. Upon successful completion, the new bundles are automatically placed in the latest dir under the documents and files folder.

https://ajax.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=7943&expandFolder=7943&folderID=0

You will find the nbm for netbeans there too. In fact, I usually use that to test. So instead of using the update center download that file and add it as a plugin to get the latest code.
