Hi Terrence Thanks a lot for ur reply. I need some advice from u. My target is to develop an application in J2ME which will play an MP3 file on ARM9 processor. I have no idea wht are the requirements for that. As u told that i need to have an MP3 decoder and support for audio playback. Other than that wht are the other s/w i need to get? And also i have some constraints
Constraints are no GUI, 32 MB flash and 16 MB RAM.
So which platfor should i choose(CLDC/CDC) ?
Thanks in advance..

I'm sorry to butt in a bit off-topic (as this forum is concerned), but why use Java? Madplay does that just fine. All you need is a cross-compiler. The decoding would probably have to be done natively anyhow, so it seems to me like a pain to set up in Java. Just my two cents, I might be wrong.

What about "Java SE Embedded"?

On a related note, how come we don't hear anything about "Java SE Embedded"? http://java.sun.com/javase/embedded/index.jsp
Is there a blog or discussion forum for this platform. It would be great to hear regular updates about this exciting new platform! Just my 2 cents
