Why is there no release??

Hi All,

I have been fooling around with SwingX for some time now. Yet still the last "release" is 0.8 and this puzzles me.

When will there be another release?

The problem is I can not propose to my boss to use some swing component which hasn't been released yet in a real project. Although the swingx components are really great.

Can you help me?
Thanks,
Jan

I'd say take a look at the FAQ on SwingLabs.org (http://swinglabs.org/faq.jsp) but it doesn't give you a hard date. The answer right now is "shortly".

Is there a problem with the current state of the project that is keeping you from using it? A 1.0 release on the project doesn't mean much if things work fine for you already. If you need to work with non-evolving code you can just download .8 or the current development trunk, work against those and then bundle your app with those libraries.

If it's any consolation, we've been using many of these components for close to a year now without any problems.

Likewise..

I have a deployed application that uses the 0.6 release library.

The first release was nearly 2 years ago and the app has performed
faultlessly.

I'm just in the process of refactoring to use the 0.8 release.

Since your answer some time passed. There is no release or new milestone since November 18th 2005. When is the next milestone planned for? Are there any major changes between the trunk and milestone 0.8?
I would like to use SwingX in a project and I would prefer to use a milestone as library.
Anyway, where can the sources for milestone 0.8 be found? On the swinglabs download page they're "not yet available".

Lots!

The CVS tree was not tagged prior to the .8 release, so reconstructing the sources at this point would be a little dodgy.
