To extend the idea, why not investing some more time writing an Open Source "Twitter ResourceAdapter" or "Skype ResourceAdaptater"? I think there will be more people than you rating that a useful component. If you need a template on how to write ResourceAdpaters, check my projects "FileRA" and "MailRA" on SourceForge: While the first one is using outbounds (which is what you need), the second one is using WorkManagers (AFAIK -- it's too long ago since I wrote it).

> -----Original Message-----
> From: Sivakumar.Thyagarajan@Sun.COM
> [mailto:Sivakumar.Thyagarajan@Sun.COM]
> Sent: Montag, 23. November 2009 05:45
> To: users@glassfish.dev.java.net
> Subject: Re: ExecutorService in Glassfish ?
>
> Hi
>
> Felipe Gaúcho wrote:
> > I have this application that should notify several external services
> > (twitter, etc..) .. and I am thinking of using Future tasks for
> that..
> >
> > what means:
> >
> > myCode() {
> > // do business here
> > // push future threads in a pool
> > // respond to the client while the future tasks run out there...
> > }
> >
> > I don't care about the results of the future tasks, if a notification
> > to twitter fails for example it doesn't matter for my business....
> >
> > So, I was wondering if Glassfish gives me such a thread pool ..
>
> You could consider using Connectors WorkManager. See the discussion at
> Work Management Contract at
> http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/bnckb.html
>
> The WorkManager does not give a rich interface such as Future but is
> backed by a Thread pool. You would then write a simple resource adapter
> , use a Work instance to send your notifications and submit such Work
> instances to the WorkManager for execution.
>
> Thanks
> --Siva.
>
> > (instead of my application to create it all the time....)
> >
> > ------------------------------------------
> > Felipe Gaúcho
> > 10+ Java Programmer
> > CEJUG Senior Adviser
> >
> > ---------------------------------------------------------------------
> > To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscribe@glassfish.dev.java.net
> > For additional commands, e-mail: users-help@glassfish.dev.java.net
> >
>
> ---------------------------------------------------------------------
> To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscribe@glassfish.dev.java.net
> For additional commands, e-mail: users-help@glassfish.dev.java.net

____________
Virus checked by G DATA AntiVirus
Version: AVB 19.525 dated 27.10.2009
Virus news: www.antiviruslab.com

How to convert mpeg to wmv freely?

It is not a tough piece on how to convert MPEG to WMV videos with Leawo MPEG to WMV Video Video Converter. This MPEG to WMV Converter can convert MPEG to WMV easy and fast. It has also provided more extensive features like video editing and multiple tasking to increase flexibility and efficiency.

To begin with, download Leawo MPEG to WMV Converter for free evaluation from its product page. It is a clean and safe program, with smooth installation and easy cleanup. It has an excellent compatibility with NT/2000/XP/Vista/Win7.

If you are new to Leawo MPEG to WMV Video Converter, it doesn't matter because you will soon get yourself comfortably familiarized by the quick startup guide on the home interface. It also reflects the simple using style of this program, which will now be explained further in this guide.

Step 1: load the MPEG videos into Leawo MPEG to WMV Video Converter and get prepared for conversion.
Leawo MPEG to WMV Video Converter offers you a good efficient way to import video files, i.e. by dragging them in directly.

It is important to do the preparation carefully; otherwise the cost would be unnecessary waste of time and energy. You can double click the file name to get a preview or change the list order.

Step 2: put together all the settings you need to do the video conversion properly
Leawo MPEG to WMV Video Video Converter has a lot of output profiles for your choosing. WMV profiles can be spotted in the Common Video catalogue or where else it makes sense.

You can easily set the quality level of output under the profile box, or you can adjust advanced codec settings through Settings button. Any changes to the default profiles can be saved as a new profile.

You can apply different settings to different files on the list. If you would like all the files to use the same settings, just click the "Apply to all" button.

Optional: customize your video with handy video edit features in Leawo MPEG to WMV Video Video Converter
Leawo MPEG to WMV Converter offer very handy video edit features for slight customizations.

Click on the Customization button to gain access to the video edit panel.

You can adjust the brightness and contrast and audio volume to change the effect of the video.

You can set a start point and an end point to easily get the desired segment for conversion.
You can adjust the size of the frame on the preview window and get rid of any unwanted parts.
The Logo Watermark feature allows for applying an image above the video layer.
The Text Watermark feature allows for applying a string of text on the video surface.

Step 3: smoothly start the conversion.
There are some helpful advices that you may wish to use in this MPEG to WMV Video Video Converter.
To get the video conversion faster, you may set the number of Max Process to 3 in "Options-Preferences" panel, so as to go for a triple MPEG to WMV video conversion at the same time.

You can instruct Leawo MPEG to WMV Video Video Converter to either "Open the output folder" or "Shut down computer" automatically after the video conversion.

Here you can download this Leawo Video Converter freely here.

http://www.leawo.com/leawo-video-converter/
