Forum: Beyond Java

In Beyond Java, Bruce Tate (co-author of Better, Faster, Lighter Java and Spring: A Developer's Notebook) looks at how Java became the most rapidly and widely successful language of all time, and the decisions and compromises it had to make to get to the top. He then argues that, for the first time in a decade, conditions are right for major innovations to occur outside the Java realm. He says Java's inescapable limitations are catching up with the language, and that developers need to start being aware of other languages and frameworks, and shows some prime candidates for your attention.
